Archivio F.lli Gori
The Archivio Gori photographic archive commenced activity at Grossetto in 1911. Subsequently, it opened photography studios at Follonica, Assisi and Rome. During the Second World War, the premises of the archive were occupied first by the Germans and then by the Americans. The Gori brothers returned to photography again in 1945. Antonio and Paolo concentrated primarily on the business side as opticians, as well as running the adjoining photography studio, while Giuseppe began a career as a professional photographer that he continues to pursue today. His images are generally taken from medium or large-format black-and-white negatives obtained with Rolleiflex equipment and an optical bench.
